Sometimes darkness can be menacing and calming at the same time. I imagine, that gargoyles feel this way. Watching the city lit up. They feel safe, up there since we do not believe them and detest that thought, but they do.
They are the most misunderstood creatures in the world - gargoyles are inherently benevolent. They just look ugly by human standards.
Humans tend to demonize things, that are not by their standards.
I think you know what I mean.
One of my dreams revolves around a restaurant like this. I am the owner of the place. My woman is would work here too. At night, we would drink coffee, chat till morning with our usual patrons. Wake up at noon, go for a walk… listen to birds in parks, take photos and enjoy people around us. Our kids would be artists and musicians who roam the world and come back once in a while to cheer us, old folks up. Tell us their stories and worries. Share their photos and brag about their articles, they just got printed.
Life is about being happy, not being in rush and stressing about career, but for that state of mind you need to go trough hell of modern society.
Why?
…because life is not about things you would want to do, life is about finding all the things, that you don’t.
I can relate.
One of the coolest and stupidest (yes, at the same time) inventions of all the time - automatic public toilets. The process takes so long, that one might think it is being operated by some lazy doped up underground gnomes.
