Historical village, protected and preserved by government. It is almost like a true time machine. First picture: this is a side of a roof. Pretty much the only material available at the time was stems of wheet etc. Second picture: not every village could afford to build a church, so crosses adorned with white cloth served for that purpose.
Division.
I don’t know much about traditions in other Christian cultures, but I can tell you typical countryside Easter morning.
Most of the family goes to Church for like two hours or so. One of the women stays at home and prepares a breakfast. You should know, that by the amount of food it looks more like a feast to celebrate crowning of a king in medieval Britain, but never the less it’s called breakfast in Lithuania.
The most important part are dyed, hardboiled eggs. There are about one million ways to dye Easter eggs, but in my family, we do not use artificial colors or wax. Fresh and organic only.
Important part of eating Easter eggs is a contest. Oldest woman at the table (99 per cent of the time it’s grandma of course) gives out colored eggs and people try to break them by smacking against neighbors egg :) Needless to say - last one wins.
